The Claims, Checked

What's True,
What Isn't

The loudest claims about Israel and Gaza, held to the evidence and graded. The same standard for everyone, with sources you can check and an honest note on what is true.

A fact-check is only worth anything if it is willing to lose. So this page grades by the evidence, not the conclusion we would prefer. Some famous claims are simply false. Others are misleading, a true kernel wrapped in a lie. A few are genuinely contested, and we say so. Where a claim has not been proven, it does not get to stand as fact. Where the facts change, the verdict changes with them.

False. Contradicted by the evidence, or asserted as established fact when no such proof exists. Misleading. A true kernel wrapped in a distorting or false frame. Contested. Genuinely unsettled. The evidence is mixed and the maximalist version is unproven.
How to read this. Grading a claim "False" or "Misleading" is not a denial that Palestinians have suffered. Civilians have died in large numbers and that is a tragedy. The point here is narrower and it matters: specific viral claims are often false or stripped of context, and a cause that has to lie about the facts is a cause that has already lost the argument. Sources are linked; if one is wrong, that is a bug to fix, not a side to pick.
