Shlomo Ben-Yosef was born in Poland as Shalom Tabachnik on May 7, 1913. He made aliyah to Palestine in 1937. He joined the Betar labour company at Rosh Pina and changed his name to Shlomo Ben-Yosef. Later, he joined the Irgun and was arrested , tried, convicted and hanged for shooting at an Arab bus in retaliation for the murder of six Jews. He was executed in Acco prison on June 29, 1938.1
