Baba Lasoori Shah used to live under a shady tree of Cordia myxa in Punjabi called Lasoora or Lasoori and followers ascribed him the name Lasoori Shah, due to the symbol of the tree and his silence. Famous singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan started his career from the shrine.1After his death in 1932, the shrine became the center of religious and cultural activities.2It is situated in Jhang bazaar of Faisalabad city. on annual Urs celebration in month of March It is estimated that approximately millions of the people visit the shrine annually without any discrimination of sex, religion and caste. The Urs celebrations consist of three days. First day, the shrine is given ritual bath in the presence of district administration, politicians of the city, business community.3The devotees bring the most beautiful Chaddars for the shrine.4Some of the devotees cover the shrine with Chaddar due to their Manat. Manat is an conditional thing which is done after the completion of that worldly task successfully. People come in the form of groups at the shrine and few of them establish their deras. At these deras, the food is cooked and served to the visitors.5Malangs are also the important features of the Urs celebrations at the shrine of Baba Lasoori Shah.6

On the annual, three-day Urs celebration in March, the shrine received large numbers of visitors.On the first day, the shrine is given a ritual bath in the presence of the district administration, local politicians and the business community.The devotees bring the most beautiful chadars— embroidered shawls—and cover the shrine with them as part of their Manat, signifying the successful completion of a worldly task.Visiting groups often establish deras —social spaces—where food is cooked and served.Malangs are also an important feature of the Urs celebrations at the shrine of Baba Lasoori Shah.Langar is also another essential feature of the shrine of Baba Lasoori Shah during Urs celebrations, and is partly sponsored by the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department and partly by public donation.It consists of Daal and bread.Some devotees send trucks of trucks to the Punjab Auqaf who organise the distribution at the shrine.
