On 1 June 2001, Palestinian militant Saeed Hotari performed a suicide bombing outside the Dolphinarium discotheque on the beachfront in Tel Aviv, Israel, killing himself and 21 Israelis, 16 of whom were teenagers. The majority of the victims were Israeli teenage girls whose families had recently emigrated from the former Soviet Union. The death toll was the highest inflicted on Israel in five years.

The Dolphinarium discotheque bombing was a June 2001 suicide attack on a Tel Aviv nightclub that killed 21 Israelis, 16 of them teenagers. Through 2020 the opening called it a Hamas terror attack carried out by a Hamas-affiliated Islamist terrorist. Today the opening says only that a Hamas-affiliated militant blew himself up outside the discotheque, with terror attack and Islamist terrorist gone from the opening though Islamist survives once in the body. A reader today learns a militant carried out a bombing and does not learn that Wikipedia's own opening once called this a terror attack.
