The Gaza Division is the IDF unit responsible for the Israel-Gaza border. Through 2020 the opening said it 'has repeatedly entered the Gaza Strip in response to rocket attacks from Palestinian militant groups based in Gaza.' Today the opening states only the division's area of operation and its commander, with the word surviving once elsewhere in the body. A reader today learns the division patrols the Gaza border and not that its incursions were described as responses to rocket attacks from Palestinian militant groups.
