The Nahal Brigade is an IDF infantry brigade that has served since 1982. Through 2015 the opening said it was "tasked with regular patrol and observation operations on the borders, counter-terrorist operations and riot control in the West Bank." Today's opening says only that it "operated in all major wars and large-scale operations" during the Lebanon wars and Intifadas, with no mention of counter-terrorism, though the word survives six times in the body. A reader today does not learn from the opening that the brigade's stated mission included counter-terrorist operations.
