㉓ Reviewed in the sweep
The Pi Glilot bombing attempt was a 2002 attack on a gas depot north of Tel Aviv that was foiled before it caused any injuries. Through October 2023 the opening identified the attacker: it 'was an attempt by a Palestinian terrorist to cause a massive explosion in the Pi Glilot gas depot north of Tel Aviv.' Today's opening says only that it was 'an attempted bombing' that 'failed, resulting in no injuries,' naming no perpetrator at all, though the word survives four times in the body. A reader today does not learn who attempted the bombing, since the opening no longer names an actor.
