Ali Akbar was an Islamic saint, the son of the eleventh Shia Imam , Hasan al-Askari and the brother of the twelfth Imam, Muhammad al-Mahdi . His existence is disputed and rejected by Shi'ite historians because of contemporary political conflicts between the divine appointment to Imamah of his father and brother and because of discord with the feudal leadership of the Abbasids .1
