The Arabic version refers to the father of Moses as Imran - and the Israeli/Jewish people are referred to as "Aale Imran" (Children of Imran) in the Qur'an , the third Surah of which is titled The House of Imran . "Imran" is also the name attributed by Muslims to the father of the Virgin Mary (he is not named in the Bible, but called "Joachim" in Catholic and Orthodox Tradition).
