Cherratine Madrasa ( Arabic : مدرسة الشراطين , romanized : Madrasat esh-Sherātīn , lit. ' school of the rope makers ' ) is an Islamic school or madrasa that was built in 1670 by the Alawi sultan Moulay al-Rashid . It is located in the city of Fez in Morocco . The madrasa is also called Er-Rachidia Madrasa or Ras al-Cherratine Madrasa . Fès avant le protectorat: étude économique et sociale d'une ville de l'occident musulman (in French).
