Hege Storhaug

Hege Storhaug (født May 21, 1962) is a Norwegian journalist, author and women’s rights activist. She has spent two years living in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and currently works as information manager for the Norwegian organization Human Rights Service (HRS). Storhaug is actively involved in Norwegian debates on issues associated with or arising from the religion of Islam , the ideology of Islamism and the heterogenous societal and ethnic group of Norwegian Muslims from a feminist perspective. Her 2006 book But the Greatest of All Is Freedom: On the Consequences of Immigration was a controversial Nowergian best-seller. Formerly an active volleyball player, Storhaug is also a certified athletic trainer with a degree from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. She has played on the Norwegian national women's volleyball team and has coached and played on teams that won the Norwegian national championships.
