There are currently 86 embassies in Tel Aviv and the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area (not including honorary consulates). Previously some states maintained embassies in Jerusalem , but currently they are all relocated to Tel Aviv with the last post-1982 being these of Costa Rica and El Salvador whose relocation was announced in August 2006.1
