Saba Soomekh (born 1976) is an Iranian-born American professor and writer.1Soomekh was born in Teheran , Iran to a Persian Jewish family that moved to Los Angeles , California to escape the Islamic Revolution of Iran . Saba is a sister to actress Bahar Soomekh . Saba earned a Ph. [1] [2] Saba Soomekh is now a professor in theological studies at Loyola Marymount University and studies the Persian Jewish community in California. [3] She wrote several essays on the community including "Tehrangeles: Capital, Culture, and Faith among Iranian Jews," where she talks about California's Persian Jewish community, its religious character and its support for the State of Israel .2
