Established in 1957 by Myer Lewkowicz, the bakery takes its name from its street, St-Viateur Street . The bagel shop operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and serves over 12,000 bagels a day. In addition to the flagship location, there are six other locations, three of which are "bagel cafés." Today, the bakery is owned by Joe Morena, and competes with the nearby Fairmount Bagel for the title of Montreal's best bagel.1
