Abraham Mapu

Abraham Mapu (1808, Slobodka , Kaunas – 1867, Königsberg , Prussia) was a Lithuanian -born Hebrew novelist of the Haskalah ("enlightenment") movement. His novels later served as a basis for the Zionist movement.
