The opening as it read in 2005

Air Sinai was a regional airline and a fully-owned subsidiary of parent airline EgyptAir . It was originally founded in 1982 and flew scheduled services between Egypt and Israel (on routes previously flown by Nefetiti Aviation ). Services started using a Boeing 737-200 leased from EgyptAir and new routes to Israel's tourist destinations followed. By the early 1980s a Fokker Friendship was also in use on these services. Charter flights were also flown for EgyptAir. As the name indicates, the airline flies primarily domestic routes around the Sinai peninsula . However, for political reasons , international flights from Cairo to Tel Aviv are also flown by unmarked Air Sinai planes, not the liveried planes of parent EgyptAir.1
