Asher Karni is a South African-Israeli businessman known for a nuclear-smuggling case. The 2005 opening said he was "accused of selling nuclear devices to Humayun Khan, a Pakistani man believed connected to a larger terrorist group in Jammu and Kashmir." Today the opening is a single vague sentence crediting him only with "financial involvement and support" for nuclear programs, though terror survives once in the body. A reader arriving now does not learn from the opening that Karni was accused of supplying nuclear components to a man tied to a terrorist group.
