Through 2010 the opening said the effort aimed "to improve understanding of the Jewish people and of Judaism, to do away with Christian antisemitism and Jewish anti-Christian sentiment." Today the opening defines the effort only as improving "understanding and acceptance," antisemitism appearing zero times there though it survives 11 times in the body. A reader arriving now does not learn that the reconciliation effort's own stated purpose was to do away with Christian antisemitism specifically.
