In 2022, it gained an additional seat. The party is associated with the Al-Abbas Shrine in Karbala and is believed to be associated with the Najaf clergy. The party attempts to merge secular civil and Islamic values. It got 100,374 votes or 1.13 % of the total votes in the 2021 election. The party emerged from the Tishreen activist movement, and faced challenges in impacting Iraq's power structure due to repression, internal divisions, and being absorbed by established political factions. It won 2 seats each from Babil and Karbala governorate, 1 seat from both the Baghdad and Al Qadisiyyah governorates.
