Madrasah Al-Maarif has students at primary , secondary and pre-university levels. [1] The curriculum of the school places equal emphasis on Islamic religious studies and secular subjects from the Singapore Ministry of Education curriculum. [2] Like the other madrasahs in Singapore, Madrasah Al-Maarif has a Management Committee whose members are appointed every two years by the Ministry of Education in consultation with the Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS). [3] In 2008 , Madrasah Al-Maarif entered a team in the nationally-televised debate show The Arena , broadcast on Mediacorp Channel 5 . The team successfully made it through the audition rounds before being knocked-out in the first televised round by the team from the Singapore American School .
