Nuh Ha Mim Keller (b 1954 ), an American Sufi Sheikh , was born in the north-western United States and was educated in philosophy and Arabic at the University of Chicago and UCLA . A former Catholic who converted to Islam and later became an Islamic scholar. He studied at Al-Azhar University in Cairo and other Islamic institutions. He is author of several books and has translated several important pieces of Arabic literature into English. v t e1
