Uri Milstein ( ; born 1940) is an Israeli military historian and poet.1Uri Milstein is a controversial Israeli writer who specializes in military history and in particular the Israeli War of Independence . He is also known an historian, sociologist and anthropologist . Milstein was the first scholar to openly criticize the Israeli defense establishment. He is an author of the History of Israel's War of Independence , (four volumes published from 1996 to 1999 out of eleven expected). Milstein is also known for his controversial biography of Yitzhak Rabin , The Rabin File: An Unauthorized Expose (1999). He published a book of poetry in the sixties, partially reappearing in his book An End to Life , and his current poetry can be read in the poetry forum he founded, where he is involved in a poetic dialogue.2
