He learned at Yeshivas Ponevitch in Bnei Brak and Yeshivas Mir in Jerusalem , and was the mashgiach ruchani , the spiritual supervisor, of Yeshivat Itri and of the Nahal Charedi religious army program.1As of 2006, Rabbi Schwartz is a senior lecturer at Yeshivat Dvar Yerushalayim in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Har Nof , an English-speaking institute for baalei teshuva (newly religious).2He is also involved in an attempt to revive the Sanhedrin .3
