The opening as it read in 2010
Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto , 37 years old, is regarded as a NYC based kabbalist. He emanates from a centuries-old rabbinic family from Morocco . On his father's side, he is the great-grandson of Rabbi Haim Pinto , a revered Moroccan sage; on his mother's side, he is the grandson of Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira, better known as the Baba Sali . He operates out of a $28 Million building in Midtown NYC. He's known as a rabbi to business stars , and Israeli wheelers and dealers in New York City consult him on business and personal matters, though some have stated "Pinto's attention to his minions is about "how big a contributor" someone is" Rabbi Pinto has no formal business education and speaks only Hebrew. His only known relative in the US is under investigation by the NYPD due to "bilking vulnerable New York Jews out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by offering divine promises for cash." Some successful Israeli and Jewish-American businessmen have visited the Rabbi, including the Israeli owner of the Plaza hotel Yitzhak Tshuva , clothing magnate Ralph Nakash, talk-show host Donny Deutsch , Jacob Arabo (aka Jacob the Jeweler), real estate mogul Ofer Yardeni, George Klein, Ilan Bracha, owner of the Lipstick Building Haim Revah, Ronn Torossian , and former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani , and Congressman Anthony Weiner. He urged the purchase of NYC's Lipstick Building in 2007, which in 2010 is on the verge of bankruptcy. Bernie Madoff was a tenant in the building. In Israel, "Pinto is not well known," according to a leading Israeli newspaper, yet some "successful businessmen, consult with Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto before any major decision." The politicians and businessmen who have visited him in Israel include attorney (and former justice minister) Yaakov Neeman, MK Danny Naveh, MK Danny Danon, tycoon Nochi Dankner, and former Bank of Israel governor Jacob Frenkel. News in Israel covered Guy Levi leaving Israel's national team for Maccabi Tel Aviv , a major soccer team at the advice of Rabbi Pinto.1
