Abu Daoud was the Palestinian planner, architect and mastermind of the Munich massacre, the 1972 killing of Israeli Olympic athletes. Through October 2023 the opening called him a 'Palestinian terrorist, teacher and lawyer.' Today the opening calls him a 'Palestinian militant, teacher and lawyer,' with terrorist gone from the opening though the word survives 10 times elsewhere in the article. A reader today learns he was a militant, not that Wikipedia once called the mastermind of the Munich massacre a terrorist outright.
