Al-Fatur was a Palestinian Arab village near Baysan, depopulated in 1948 during Israel's Operation Gideon. The 2010 opening said "A massacre was known to have occurred by Jewish troops against the town's inhabitants." Today's opening says the village "was attacked by the Israel Defense Forces as part of Operation Gideon," with no mention of a massacre; the word does not appear anywhere in the article. A reader today does not learn that earlier snapshots of the article recorded a massacre claim at Al-Fatur.

Al-Fatur was a Palestinian Arab village in the District of Baysan.1 It was located 11.5 km south of Baysan . The village was attacked as part of Operation Gideon .2 A massacre was known to have occurred by Jewish troops against the town's inhabitants. The population of the village in 1931 was 66, expanding to 128 in 1948.3
