Elias' son, George Khouri , was murdered on March 19 2004 while jogging in East- Jerusalem .1The Al Aqsa Marytrs Brigade , the military branch of the Fatah movement, demanded responsibility. After it became clear that the terror victim was an Arab Israeli it apologized, and offered to declare him martyr for the Palestinian cause.2Elias Khouri, who had previously represented the Palestinian Authority , refused to the Fatah's offer. He also received a phone call from at that time Fatah's leader, Yasser Arafat , who Elias Khouri knew professionally. Khouri's father, Daoud Khouri , was also murdered in a Palestinian terror attack in Jerusalem, when a booby-trapped refrigerator exploded at Zion Square.3
