Ernst Akiba/Akiva Simon , or 'aqibhah Ernst Simon , (March 15, 1899, Berlin - August 18, 1988, Jerusalem ) was a German - Israeli Jewish educator , and religious philosopher. Along with Martin Buber and Judah Magnes , he founded in the 1920s one of the earliest Israeli peace groups, Brit Shalom , which advocated for a binational state including Jews and Arabs. From 1930 to 1933 he taught at the Hebrew Reali School Haifa, headed by Arthur Biram .1
