In the Bible, Heber or Chéver ( חֶבֶר / חָבֶר , ("friend", "connected"), Standard Hebrew Ḥéver / Ḥáver , Tiberian Hebrew Ḥéḇer / Ḥāḇer ) is the grandson of the patriarch Asher mentioned in the Book of Genesis 46:17 [1] and in the Book of Numbers 26:45 [2] . Heber should not be confused with the Eber who was Noah 's descendant. Heber the kenite is mentioned in the Book of Judges 4:17 of the Hebrew Bible as Jael 's husband. In the New Testament, Heber (Hebrew spelling עבר) is found once in Luke, referring to Eber of the Old Testament . According to some British traditions, Heber was the name of a people descending from Magog 's first son Baath who were supposed to have occupied the Iberian peninsula , and Ireland ( Hibernia ) prior to arriving at their final destination in the Hebrides , leaving their name in each location. Prior to this Iberians were also in the east mediterranean. Heber is a town in Arizona and Utah , USA . v t e1
