Ibn al-Athir

Izz ad-Dīn Abil-Hasan Abil-Karam ibn al-Athīr ( 1160 – 1233 ) was a 13th century historian born in Cizre in Eastern Anatolia . His al-Kāmil fī-t-Ta'rīkh , composed in ca. 1231 , is one of the most important Arabic historical works.

Abu al-Hassan Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad , better known as Ali 'Izz al- Din Ibn al-Athir al-Jazari ( Arabic : عزالدین ابن الاثیر الجزری) (1233–1160) was an kurdish Muslim historian born in Cizre , a town in present-day Şırnak province in south-eastern Turkey , from the Ibn Athir family. According to the 1911 Edition of Encyclopædia Britannica, he was born in Turkey Jazirat Ibn Umar [1] . According to the Encyclopaedia of Islam . 12th and 13th-century Islamic historian and geographer Abu al-Hassan Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad ash-Shaybani , better known as Ali 'Izz al- Din Ibn al-Athir al-Jazari ( ) (1160-1233) was an Arab or Kurdish historian and biographer who wrote in Arabic and was from the Ibn Athir family. At the age of twenty-one he settled with his father in Mosul to continue his studies, where he devoted himself to the study of history and Islamic tradition.
