It was resettled in 1934 , but had to be abandoned again in 1939 as a result of violence then. In 1943 Kfar Etzion was settled for the third time as part of the Etzion Bloc . Subject to attacks and sieges, it was the site of a major battle between Israeli and Jordanian forces in 1947 , it suffered a massacre and was eventually abandoned.
