The opening as it read in 2005
Lander College was created as an antidote to Yeshiva University . Rabbi's Abba Bronspiegal and Yehuda Parnes Shlita left YU to create a right wing version of YU. As opposed to espousing a thesis of Torah Umadda ( Torah and General Knowledge/Science) the Lander College proposes a philosophy of Torah Uparnassa ( Torah and Livelihood).1
