The Goa Inquisition
The Goa Inquisition is a 1961 history book on the Portuguese Inquisition's persecution campaign in colonial Goa, India. The opening once described the book as detailing "the wholesale massacres of Hindus, Muslims, Indian Jews and non-Catholic Indian Christians by the Portuguese inquisitors." That description is gone from the opening, though massacre survives once elsewhere in the article. A reader today does not learn that the book documents the Portuguese Inquisition's massacres of Indian Jews alongside Hindus, Muslims and other Christians.
