Yossi Vardi" is the father of Arik Vardi , one of the founders of Mirabilis , the maker of ICQ . In the mid-1990s, he funded Mirabilis when no one else would, eventually negotiating the sale of Mirabilis to AOL in 1998 for several hundred million dollars (US). With this success and his well-known wit, he became an inspiration to Israeli tech entrepreneurs, a venture investor, and a special advisor to AOL.1
