European Council for Fatwa and Research
The European Council for Fatwa and Research is a Dublin-based body of Islamic clerics presided over by Yusuf al-Qaradawi, tasked with issuing religious rulings for Muslims in Europe. Through 2005 the opening described it as an organization considered as belonging to the islamist tendency within the islamic world community. Today that description is gone from the article entirely, and islamist appears nowhere. A reader today learns who founded the council and who presides over it, and not the ideological tendency Wikipedia itself once said it belonged to.

The opening as it read in 2005
A Dublin-based private foundation, founded in London at 29-30 March 1997 on the initiative of the Federation of Islamic Organisations in Europe, the European Council for Fatwa and Research ('ECFR') is a largely self-selected body, composed by islamic clerics and scholars, presided by Yusuf al-Qaradawi , and considered as belonging to the islamist tendency within the islamic world community, the Ummah .1 Sometimes, it is (was?) called 'Islamic Cultural Centre in Ireland'.2
