Arif Hussain Hussaini , assasinated former leader of the TJP The Tehrik-e-Jafaria Pakistan ( TJP ) ( ) also called Tehrik-e-Islami is a Shia political party in Pakistan . It was formed in 1979 with the name Tehrik-e-Nafaz-e-Fiqah-e-Jafaria ( ur ) as result of enforcement of controversial Islamic laws as described by Wahabbi school of thought Deobandi . TNFJ was formed by Shi'ite leader Allama Mufti Jaffar Hussain and was later split into two groups. One was headed by Arif Hussain Hussaini ; it was banned Tehrik-e-Jafaria Pakistan TJP , but the second group headed by Hamid Ali Moosavi , called Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafaria (TNFJ) continues to function under the old name of TNFJ. Hussaini was assassinated in 1988 by unknown attackers. Since then TJP has been led by Sajid Ali Naqvi . It was banned two times by President Pervez Musharraf 's government. The Islamic revolution in predominantly Shia Iran around the same time gave an added boost to the organization. The main objective of this party is to protect Shia's rights and give them a voice in Parliament, they do not advocate a Shia state and have cordial relations with Sunni which is why they joined coalition of Islamist political parties Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal that won 53 out of 272 elected members in legislative elections held on 20 October 2002.1
